Holiday Beauty Gifts That I Want to Keep for Myself
I love a thoughtful present. Presents that makes you feel loved and that the giver knows me well. I love a bargain and high quality. Those two things don’t normally come together. I will make a list of some great beauty gifts available this season. Something I would buy again. Let’s start with the least expensive first. Mabelline Baby Lips in this color of Pink Shock seems scary but is sheer, and a perfect pink color. These inexpensive ($2.99) little lip glosses are VERY moisturizing and the color stains your lips a little so the color lasts. There are …
Houston Book Rave
We just returned from the Houston Book Rave and had a blast at Pasadena High School, and Pasadena Memorial High School. Pasadena Memorial High School is a beautiful school that is so big and modern it looks like a mall with a food court, and I’ll admit I’m a little jealous and wish I went to a school just like it. The students were so kind and excited, and even helped us load up the car. Plus they treated us to a lovely lunch. Talk about hospitality. We loved all the polite and respectful, “yes ma’am’.” Somehow I feel older though. 🙂 We enjoyed the …

Beauty Blender: The little egg shaped make-up miracle
What is a Beauty Blender? I asked myself that same questions and started to research it, watch videos, and read testimonials about how this little pink egg shaped make-up sponge applicator gives you an airbrushed finish to your face. I’m a skeptic, but I also love to try things out see if all the hype is true. I ordered mine on Amazon with some free shipping from Prime, and it was on my door in a couple days. I followed the instructions and rinsed it out first saturating the sponge and then squeezing as much water out as possible. …
Hennas with Amalie Howard author of Alpha Goddess
A little about Henna, Alpha Goddess, & East Indian culture! with Guest Blogger Amalie Howard When I wrote Alpha Goddess, Mehndi—the Indian term for decorative henna—was an important part of my protagonist’s character, and a crucial symbol to the goddess that she becomes. The Mehndi artwork on the model’s hands on the Alpha Goddess cover was a complete representation of that evolution. To me, it was very authentic. In the novel, Mehndi is a clear symbol of my protagonist’s past and who she is—and when it appears on her skin, she understands that she isn’t just an …
Is Beauty only Skin Deep? **Win a Prize**
As a teenager all I wanted for my skin to be free of acne. As a 20 year old I still wanted to be acne free, but I knew I also needed sunscreen in my daily face moisturizer since I live in the sunny desert. I tried several products until I found the right one for me, and then I learn more about what should I do during my early 20’s. But I failed to follow, and it continues to open more acne and breakouts. When I reached my 30’s I was sure that the little breakouts would surely stop …
