The most romantic getaway in Mexico, Puerto Vallarta
My husband and I recently took a trip to celebrate his 40th birthday and he was given the chance to pick anywhere he wanted to go. At first, he was dead set on going to Las Vegas but I strongly discouraged that choice for various reasons. With work and life, stresses can easily build up and so we were looking for a place so far removed from our typical day to day life and a place to really unwind. view more for more information. After much research, we settled on Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Most importantly, Hotel Mousai. We seen an advertisement …

Well, there are a number of events designed specifically around those of us who love the world of books and the magic they add. Unfortunately, we may not be aware of the what, when and where. Reawakened Tour Stop, Brazil!
Colleen travelled to Brazil by invitation this past August to see and meet some of her hugest fans. I was lucky to be her plus one on this trip! A little about me: I’m Colleen’s husband, Brad. I’m the youngest of four kids. I’ve been Deaf since I was five so I watch every movie with caption glasses. I love sports and reading (I’ll admit I’ve read Twilight but prefer thrillers like Jack Reacher). My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. I’ll never turn down a taco. I write poetry. My man credentials include: a high school career in wrestling, …
The Magic of Disneyland at Halloween
Villains boldly claim Disneyland every year during Halloween. This year I took my family to enjoy the fog filled lagoon, tasty scary treats, and to trick or treat all around Disneyland dressed up in their Halloween costumes. In between the spooky rides we saw villains not normally seen during the day at Disneyland. Special event tickets only allow those who planned (paid) for this Halloween event into Disneyland and you have the whole park to run and hide from these evil characters, but beware of those devilish souls waiting to claim your dalmatian puppies, curse you into a never ending …
The Reawakened Tour!
My team has been very busy behind the scenes organizing everything for my upcoming tour and I’m so excited to finally be able to announce where I’m headed to promote the release of my new book, REAWAKENED! Those of you who follow me online know I just got back from San Diego Comic Con where I was able to give out 100 advanced reading copies of REAWAKENED thanks to my very generous publisher. What a cool pre-release stop that was! THE US My first stop in the US is my hometown. SALEM, OREGON Join me at the …
YA Summer Beach Reads
Since summer is upon us, I thought I’d make a list of books you might like to take to the beach with you. These are mostly YA. I think the only exception is Michael Crichton but I can’t remember anything too edgy in there for a YA reader. All of them feature the ocean or the beach in some way. Let me know which ones you’ve read and if you have any more suggestions and add them in the comments below! Happy summer everyone! SHIP BREAKER In America’s Gulf Coast region, where grounded oil tankers are being broken …
Salt Lake Comic Con
Salt Lake Comic Con Colleen-This was my first ever Comic Con. I’ve always wanted to go to one but never knew any existed outside of San Diego. Why didn’t you all tell me I was missing out? It was everything I hoped it would be so thanks to my good friend, Bree Despain, for getting me invited. Day 1 (Wednesday) Shara-My daughter I up arrived a bit early so we could walk around and see some of the local sites. We arrived too late for the famed Salt Lake Temple Christmas lights, but we did have a chance to walk …
Sedona Arizona a city in Red
My family and I took a summer vacation to Sedona Arizona. It’s only 4 hours away, and we loved every moment of this tiny touristy city. If I could choose one word to describe the vacation it would be “peaceful.” We rented a home with spectacular views and a 15 minute hike down to the refreshing Oak Creek where we played and slid down the rocks. The Sedona Vacation Home we rented was a home away from home with a large professional gas stove, huge restaurant sized fridge and freezer, laundry downstairs, comfy beds for all, and the kids bedrooms were in the basement with …
Christmas Cruise
Christmas Cruise So I’m finally getting around to writing a blog post on what I did over the holidays. You might have noticed that I was more absent than usual during December and that was because I went on my first ever cruise. Usually I am the hostess with the mostest during Christmas but since none of my brothers and sisters were coming to Oregon this year and my mom was going to be gone, my hubby and I decided we’d be grinches and take off. Funny thing is, there aren’t too many places you can go from the …
