Pack Your Bags! {A Contest}
If you could have an adventure with a handsome (or beautiful!) stranger, where would you go? I love looking around on Pinterest at the beautiful places around the world. There are so many and I will not be able to visit them all in my lifetime. Colleen takes us on some fantastic journeys throughout her books. Deep in the Indian forest to temples to fantastical realms like Kishkindha onto a private yacht in the Ocean — and Egypt in her next book! Let’s take a look within the United States — St. Louis! There’s this city museum there. I’ve never …
Tiger’s Destiny Extended Scenes Between Kelsey and Lokesh
I loved giving my readers all this background on Lokesh but my editor felt that it was too much like a Batman villain sharing his whole evil plan just before he gets caught. We moved some pieces to other places but some of it might be new for you. Extended Scenes Between Kelsey and Lokesh I stiffened my bearing and announced disdainfully, “I am not fond of immodest clothing. Surely you recognize that I am not some garish strumpet who will hasten to obey your every whim. Are you truly wanting an ally or are you only interested in a …
Tiger’s Destiny Deleted Chapter-Diwali
I loved this chapter and it was heartbreaking to cut. Some of the pieces we moved to different places but I’m very happy that you have the opportunity to read it in it’s entirety. Chapter 6 Diwali-Festival of Lights After I got dressed, Nilima hustled me into the McLaren and we headed to town. “Now will you tell me what’s going on?” I asked. “Next week is Diwali and I’ll need your help to get ready.” “What is Diwali?” “It’s a festival of lights where we celebrate life, show gratitude for our blessings, and give gifts to …
Tiger’s Destiny Deleted Scene-Kadam Confronts Lokesh
In the first section Lokesh tells Kadam he hid a tracking device in Kelsey’s ring which she promptly throws as far away as she can. The second scene is a description of what it was like for Kadam to move them through time and space. Lokesh laughed. “She’s close, my comrade, even now. I’m tracking her, you see. How did you think I found you in this wilderness?” “She has no tracking device under her skin. We would have found it.” Turning his back on the trees, Lokesh mocked Mr. Kadam. “And I thought you were the smart one of …
Tiger’s Destiny Deleted Scene-The Trees
Tiger’s Destiny Deleted Scene-The Trees When I originally described Kelsey’s connection to the fire forest she could communicate with them. Here are two deleted sections. One, when they speak to her, warning her of danger and the other scene when Kelsey and Ren are using their connection to heal a tree she damaged with water. My sense of the tree expanded and I could feel the roots digging deep into the soil. I followed along until I touched more roots and then shot up the trunks of several trees at once. Their inner fire was even more beautiful than what …
Tiger’s Destiny Deleted Scene-The Ring
Kishan and Kelsey went on a date when they were at Port Blair waiting to head out to the volcano. I thought it was significant that she wasn’t wearing her ring. The rest of the week flew by quickly and it became harder to feign excitement over my new status as a fiancée. When Kishan took me to dinner one evening, he picked up my hand and frowned. “Where’s your ring, Kelsey?” “My ring? Oh, it’s here.” I pulled the amulet chain out from my shirt and showed him the shiny ring that I’d attached to it. “Why don’t …
Tiger’s Destiny Extended Scene-The Prologue
The prologue was scaled down quite a bit from what it was originally. Here is the uncut version. Prologue Space and Time Together they spun in the whirlwind of time. Seconds passed. Eons passed. And they had no more control of the places they touched than they did of their own bodies. Molecules shifted and stirred. They were molded, shaped into something resembling human, then just as quickly their cores were ripped asunder and they floated like cosmic dust, unable to maintain thought long enough to wonder what had become of them. Then, a light pierced the darkness. The …
Tiger’s Destiny Alternate Ending #2
Tiger’s Destiny Alternate Ending #2 This ending shares basically the same information that the book has but I really liked showing an older version of Ren and Kelsey. This was something we went back and forth on for quite some time in the editing process. This was the second ending I tried out. The third one is the one that was actually printed in the book. The old man stood outside the door of a beautiful home built into the mountainside and closed his eyes for a moment enjoying the smell of pine and rain. He loved Oregon and would …
Tiger’s Curse Extended Scene-Epilogue
This is the original epilogue from Tiger’s Curse the self-published version. Epilogue Shadow The immaculately dressed man stood at his penthouse office window. He gazed upon the city lights far below and clenched his fist. How do you find one small person in a city of millions, let alone a world of billions? He sneered. He lived in a city of twenty-nine million people, the most densely populated city in the world. His office was in the most expensive, tallest building in the city, as far away from the general populace as possible. It wasn’t that he had a phobia of the unwashed masses. He …
Tiger’s Quest Deleted Scene Lhasa Apsos
This is a short scene that was cut about the Lhasa Apsos in Tibet. It was fun research but ultimately didn’t add anything to the story. Chapter 14 Yin/Yang Mr. Kadam had been unable to secure a meeting with the Dalai Lama himself but had scheduled a meeting with his Tibetan office. He was frustrated because he didn’t want to reveal more details than were necessary with the staff and his vagueness didn’t seem urgent enough for them to bother His Holiness. Our appointment with the office staff was set for Monday which gave us three days to cool our …
