HALLOWEEN CONTEST
“Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen, Voices whisper in the trees, ‘Tonight is HALLOWEEN!’” -Dexter Kozen It’s here, it’s finally here! Halloween is just about my favorite holiday because it represents so many wonderful things. The cooler weather, the beautiful fall colors, the foods and spices, warm candles and smoking chimneys. Let’s not forget the parties, carnivals, costumes and treats! So before I mention the awesome Halloween Contest, I thought it’d be fun to learn just a little history behind Halloween and its costumes. It seems that some of the first documented costumes originated from the Celts. …
SEPTEMBER MONTHLY CONTEST: Pick Up Lines!
Yes, the following conversation happened with my husband. “So, I’m doing the September contest for Colleen. What should it be about?” “Umm….” {20 minutes and 3 separate topics later — I KID YOU NOT! But we were both working on separate things so no big deal.} “How about pick up lines?” And strangely enough, I knew exactly which topic he was referring to. They told me not to judge a book by it’s cover but I don’t even know you and I’m checking you out. {For the Harry Potter fans!} Did you survive the Avada Kedavra curse? Because you’re drop …

July Art Contest
One of the many benefits of summer break is the time to relax and do things we don’t normally have the time to do. I love lazy summer days by the pool, watching movies, reading books from the library, and stopping by the corner store to get my soda fix of Code Red Mountain Dew or Cherry Coke! Or driving in your car with the windows rolled down and rockin’ out to your favorite tunes on the radio? Me too! Thanks to Radio Waves for this kind of updates. Ahhh, the good ol’ summer days! As a grown up …
